LOYALTY

" LOYALTY "

IF YOU WORK FOR A MAN,
IN HEAVEN’S NAME WORK FOR HIM,
SPEAK WELL OF HIM AND STAND BY THE INSTITUTION HE REPRESENTS.
REMEMBER AN OUNCE OF LOYALTY IS WORTH MORE THAN A POUND OF CLEVERNESS.
IF YOU MUST GROWL, CONDEMN AND ETERNALLY FIND FAULT THEN RESIGN YOUR POSITION,
AND WHEN YOU ARE ON THE OUTSIDE DAMN TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT.
BUT AS LONG AS YOU ARE PART OF THE INSTITUTION,
DON’T CONDEMN IT FOR IF YOU DO,
THE FIRST HIGH WIND THAT COMES ALONG MAY BLOW YOU AWAY
AND YOU WILL PROBABLY NEVER KNOW THE REASON WHY.

Yes, Loyalty is definitely a most desirable quality in any person. But a certain amount of healthy criticism is warranted at all levels to have a healthy organisation. Self criticism leads to improvement.

What is not warranted is washing dirty linen in public. The criticism should be an internal matter, listened to carefully, shown respect and either changes made accordingly or explanation as to why the change is not necessary or cannot be done.
